Governance Capacity Development Session Series: Strengthening Public Governance and Accelerating Innovation to Achieve Agenda 2030

The Governance Capacity Development Session Series on "Strengthening Public Governance and Accelarating Innovation to Achieve Agenda 2030" was held from 02 April to 25 June 2021 (every Friday from 15:00 to 16:30 pm GMT+9).  The Session Series aimed to provide a common knowledge base to discuss and share general knowledge on the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the critical importance of strengthening public governance and building effective, accountable and transparent institutions at all levels for SDG implementation.<

Regional “Train the Trainers” Workshop on the Behavioural Insights and Strategic Planning Handbook

Within the framework of ESCWA’s Development Account (DA) project “Towards the Arab Horizon 2030: Enhancing Integrated National Development Planning in the Arab Region” and as part of its deliverables, ESCWA and Nudge Lebanon collaborated to develop a comprehensive handbook/manual for Arab development planners. The handbook includes good practices and tools identified from within and outside the region that may be used by national planners as a guide during their work and throughout the different stages of planning.

International Mayors' Forum

UNPOG sent Mr. Keping Yao, Governance and Public Administration Expert, to attend the 2nd International Mayors’ Forum, where over mayors from over 70 cities participated in the forum to share best practices for making local communities more inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. The Forum was jointly organized by UN Office for Sustainable Development (UNOSD) and UNPOG, in collaboration with UNDP Malawi and the Government of Malawi.

Executive Development Course on Digital Government for Transformation Towards Sustainable and Resilient Societies – The Singapore Experience

UNPOG successfully co-organized the Executive Development Course on Digital Government for Transformation Towards Sustainable and Resilient Societies – The Singapore Experience, which was held on April 2-6, 2018 in Singapore. The Course was attended by 27 participants, mainly the national SDG focal points, from 20 countries in Asia and the Pacific, Eastern Africa and Latin America. The Course was composed of sessions and panel discussions on diverse topics of digital government as well as several field visits to experience Singapore’s digital government services.
