The Dubai Policy Review (DPR), published by the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government, targets the policy and government community with the objective of contributing to higher government quality, better government practice, and informing future policymaking directions. The aim is to advance future governance and public policy, through accessible and actionable practice-oriented knowledge.

While a combination of vision, strategic thinking, and agile policymaking is still at the beginning of a long journey, that has not been without its obstacles, its experience may have something to offer to governments in the region looking to begin integrating AI into their government and sectoral activities.

ESCWA and the WHO EMRO are jointly organizing a high-level discussion in collaboration with UNICEF and UNFPA on agile government practice.

A panel discussion on data policy is being held by the World Bank in conjunction with the National Center for Digital Economy of Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Institute for the Development of the Information Society.

Jointly with OECD/SIGMA, ReSPA hosted the Panel as a part of the Government After Shock online event coordinated by the OECD's Observatory of Public Sector Innovation (OPSI) , The Panel gathered more than 100 participants and was an ideal occasion for the promotion of one of the most successful winning cases of the just-finished Western Balkans Public Administration Awards Contest.

The summit was organized in the framework of the Berlin Process and the Multi-Annual Action Plan on Regional Economic Area (MAP-REA) for the Western Balkans and aimed at showcasing good practices in the Western Balkans, highlighting the achievements and outcomes of the Digital Agenda, and exploring possibilities of building partnerships with the private sector, in the context of the digital transformation process.

The 2020 Awards will focus on successful responses by the Western Balkan administrations to address the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. This crisis has forced governments to be inventive and responsive in order to deal effectively with issues concerning both public health and the economy. 

The award was created in recognition of Mzia Mikeladze’s contributions to the discipline, professionalism, and organisation of NISPAcee. The Mzia Mikeladze PhD Thesis Award 2020 will be presented at the 29th NISPAcee Annual Conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia in May 2021.
