Opportunities and Challenges of Civic Engagement in Socio-economic Policies in the Arab Region

High level officials and representatives of 17 Arab countries, a total of 65 participants representing government ministries and diverse institutions, private sector, civil society organizations, non governmental organizations, Academia, local authorities, parliament and media attended the Arab Regional Workshop on “Opportunities and Challenges of Civic Engagement in Socio-Economic Policies in the Arab Region. Held during 13-15 March 2007, in Amman, Jordan, the Meeting concluded that civic engagement in socio-economic policies is key to the effective and efficient implementation and achievement of national development objectives including the MDGs.

2020 ADBI Annual Conference: The Impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic and its Policy Implications

The 2020 Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) Annual Conference examined the macroeconomic impacts of COVID-19, its effects on MSMEs and households, and the pandemic-driven acceleration of digitalization in Asia and the Pacific. It explored how these trends will shape macroeconomic policy making and prospects for advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the region moving forward.

Fifteen of the world's leading Internet scientific and technological achievements were unveiled at the World Internet Conference, which were selected by a group of nearly 40 experts from around the world, cover post-pandemic industrial recovery and coordinated development, digital social governance, global public crisis response, cloud life based on artificial intelligence (AI) and other Internet-related fields.

2021 AAPA Annual Conference on “The Future of Public Administration in PostCOVID-19 Period: Addressing Unprecedented Challenges and Seizing New Opportunities”

9th International Conference on Asian Economic Development-Toward Sustainable Development Goals: Poverty Eradication and Inclusive Sustainable Growth

ADBI and Chiang Mai University co-hosted a virtual conference on tackling constraints on poverty reduction and inclusive growth. The focus was on sharing country experiences and best practices for generating quality jobs, promoting small and medium-sized enterprise microcredit and financing, improving human capital development, gender equality, and ensuring social protection.
