Call for the 2022 AAPAM Gold Medal Award Nomination


The Gold Medal Award of the African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM) will be awarded at the 41st Roundtable Conference scheduled for 6th -9th December 2022 at University of the Western Cape, Cape Town, South Africa.

The AAPAM Gold Medal Award Programme was established in 2005 aimed at recognizing outstanding individual achievement and promoting best practice, excellence and professionalism in public administration and management/ public service in Africa.

Strengthening Institutional Capacities in Africa for Effective Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and AU Agenda 2063

The African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) regional workshop on Strengthening institutional capacities in Africa for effective implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and AU Agenda 2063: Follow-up to the 2024 HLPF and Summit of the Future is the fifth in a series designed to support countries in their efforts to build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.

The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG), is organising a capacity development workshop entitled “Strengthening Innovation in Public Service to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals” under the umbrella of the 42nd Annual Roundtable Conference of the African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM). It will take place in Livingstone, Zambia from 5 to 8 December 2023.

42nd AAPAM Annual Roundtable Conference

The theme of the conference is ‘Building Resilient Societies in Africa through Effective Governance and Public Administration: An Imperative for the Realisation of the SDGs and Agenda 2063 Aspirations.’  This roundtable conference will also witness the fourteenth (14th) AAPAM Innovative Management Award (IMA) Ceremony. The IMA promotes excellence and best practice by recognizing and celebrating institutional creativity in enhancing service delivery in the continent.
