Effective institutions are essential to deliver quality services to people, including access to justice, education, health, sanitation, among others. Strengthening Member States’ capacities to deliver effective, accountable and inclusive public services, particularly to the poorest and most vulnerable, is essential to realize the SDGs.

Government Electronic and Mobile Services (GEMS) maturity index - 2020

GEMS indicator aims to measure the maturity of government services provided through the portal and through mobile applications in the Arab region. It seeks to bridge the gap in most of the international indicators, related to service maturity, its use and user satisfaction. To this end, 84 government services have been identified, and it is necessary for each country to deliver them electronically for individuals and businesses. The principle of life cycle has been adopted in service selection; any individual needs these services at different stages of life, and each company requires them since its establishment to its close.

Digital Transformation for the Public Sector and Innovative Practice

The summit was organized in the framework of the Berlin Process and the Multi-Annual Action Plan on Regional Economic Area (MAP-REA) for the Western Balkans and aimed at showcasing good practices in the Western Balkans, highlighting the achievements and outcomes of the Digital Agenda, and exploring possibilities of building partnerships with the private sector, in the context of the digital transformation process.

Digital Justice: 360 Vision of Security - Spain

The Ministry of Justice Spain developed the Justicia Digital: La visión 360º de la Seguridad (Digital Justice: 360 vision of security) quality plan in 2016 to improve the administrative management of all existing judicial offices in its field through enhanced ICT and training to professionals using it. The strategy is supported by a set of organizational and technological measures, integrating legislative compliance, security, awareness, prevention and surveillance.

2021 UN Public Service Awards

The  United Nations Public Service Awards is the most prestigious international recognition of excellence in public service. It rewards the creative achievements and contributions of public service institutions that lead to a more effective and responsive public administration in countries worldwide. Through an annual competition, the UN Public Service Awards promotes the role, professionalism and visibility of public service.
