Compendium of National Institutional Arrangements for implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: 2019 Update

Since the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in 2015, countries have continuously updated institutional arrangements in order to enable government institutions and other stakeholders to implement the Agenda. This compendium aims to document institutional arrangements related to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in a simple but standard way. The compendium covers the 46 countries that presented Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) in 2018 at the United Nations High-level Political Forum on sustainable Development.

United Nations E-Government Survey 2018

The 2018 UN E-Government Survey is published as the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) advances to its third year. Governments have the critical responsibility to pursue policies and measures to build resilience and assist those most affected by shocks in achieving SDGs. They must find ways to anticipate disasters and shocks and lower their impact. Digital technologies are increasingly being used by governments to improve the response to disasters and other shocks to improve the resilience of communities.

European Center of Sustainable Development (ECSD) in collaboration with Canadian Institute of Technology (CIT) will organize the 9th ICSD 2021 International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD), with particular focus on Environmental, Economic and Socio-Cultural Sustainability.

E-Mutation – Bangladesh

The e-Mutation initiative established a digital mechanism for mutation applications, which allowed for more efficient application, tracking of the process, and delivery of timely services. It aims to ensure transparency and accountability in the process, increase efficiency, and ensure a system that is fair to all citizens, particularly the most vulnerable including the illiterate, women, older persons and the poor.

Hello, World: Artificial Intelligence and Its Use in the Public Sector 

This report is the result of 10 months of research and analysis focused specifically on the use and implications of AI in government. It benefited from the participation of dozens of experts and stakeholders, including through a seven-week public consultation, which received nearly 1,500 comments from more than 75 individuals or organizations, including governments, academics, AI specialists, companies and organizations civil society.

World Public Sector Report 2019 - Sustainable Development Goal 16: Focus on Public Institutions

The World Public Sector Report 2019 looks at national-level developments in relation to several concepts highlighted in the targets of Goal 16, which are viewed as institutional principles: access to information, transparency, accountability, anti-corruption, inclusiveness of decision-making processes, and non-discrimination.

It covers the 47 countries that presented Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) at the United Nations High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in July 2019.

United Nations E-Government Survey 2020

By surveying and studying broad patterns of digital government around the world, the United Nations E-Government Survey assesses the digital government development of the 193 United Nations Member States in identifying their strengths, challenges and opportunities, as well as informing policies and strategies. The Survey supports countries’ efforts to provide effective, accountable and inclusive digital services to all and to bridge the digital divides in fulfilling the principle of leaving no one behind.
