2021 Leaders Summit - Open Government Partnership (OGP)

The 2021 OGP Global Summit will mark OGP’s 10th anniversary and will galvanize the open government community with fresh energy, political commitment, evidence, and support to build a stronger global movement for open government and democracy. OGP Global Summit themes will be aligned with the current Co-Chair Priorities: anti-corruption, digital innovation and governance, and public participation and civic space. 


World Summit on the Information Society Forum 2021

The World Summit on the Information Society Forum 2021 represents the world's largest annual gathering of the ‘ICT for development’ community. The WSIS Forum, co-organized by ITU, UNESCO, UNDP and UNCTAD, in close collaboration with all WSIS Action Line Facilitators/Co-Facilitators, has proven to be an efficient mechanism for coordination of multi- stakeholder implementation activities, information exchange, creation of knowledge, sharing of best practices and continues to provide assistance in developing multi-stakeholder and public/private partnerships to advance development goals. This Forum will provide structured opportunities to network, learn and participate in multi-stakeholder discussions and consultations on WSIS implementation. The Agenda and Programme of the Forum will be built on the basis of the submissions received during the Open Consultation Process.

The Eleventh Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF11) on “ Transforming Our Cities for a Better Urban Future”

The session will highlight a state of informed preparedness that provides us with the opportunity to anticipate change, correct the course of action if necessary, and become more knowledgeable on the different possibilities that the future of cities offers. It also illuminates the ways that policy, strategies and actions can promote desirable futures.

2018 OECD Global Forum on Development – Inclusive Agendas for Women and Youth

The 2018 Global Forum on Development took stock of the progress to date, and debate how policies can keep the promise of unleashing the power of women and youth as critical agents of change. During the Forum, high-level representatives from governments, businesses, foundations and international organisations, met and shared ideas on concrete ways to achieve greater prosperity for all.

World e-Parliament Conference Report 2009

The World e-Parliament Conference 2009 took place at the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., on 3, 4 and 5 November 2009. It provided a platform to exchange views on the latest trends and different modalities of implementation of new technologies in legislatures with a view to identify good practices in the areas of representation, transparency, accountability, openness, and effectiveness. This report summarizes the presentations and practices showcased during the different sessions and highlights the main points of discussion.

The Human Factor in Capacity-Building for Development - Committee of Experts on Public Administration

The present note by the Secretariat has been prepared on the basis of an outline provided by the members of the Committee of Experts on Public Administration. The Committee adopted the theme of the human factor in capacity-building for development, as the main agenda item for its eighth session (see Economic and Social Council decision 2008/254). The present note has been prepared to establish the understanding that people matter most in development because they are its beneficiaries as well as its architects. This is the crux of the human factor in capacity-building for development.

The United Nations Public Service Awards Programme (UNPSA) is the most prestigious international recognition of excellence in public service. It rewards the creative achievements and the contributions of public service institutions to a more effective and responsive public administration in countries worldwide. This publication provides an overview of the UNPSA initiatives recognized as winners and finalists in 2008. Its purpose is to disseminate, through descriptive case studies, information about innovative practices by looking at the problem that led to an innovation; the solution that was designed and implemented to respond to the specific challenge; the actors and steps involved in the innovation process, and lessons learned.
