Learning Conference on Developing a “Holistic Approach for the Implementation of the 2030 Agenda”

Shanghai, People’s Republic of China – UNITAR, in collaboration with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), and the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS) successfully held the Learning Conference “Implementing the 2030 Agenda in the Asia-Pacific Region” in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China, on the 23rd and 24th of January 2019.

Virtual event on "How can external audits promote budget credibility? Leveraging the role of supreme audit institutions"

Jointly convened by the International Budget Partnership (IBP) and UNDESA’s Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG), this interactive session discussed how supreme audit institutions may contribute to understanding and enhancing budget credibility through their audits. High-Level Political Forum 2018

The High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development was held from July 9 to 18, 2018 in the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The forum took place under the theme of transformation towards sustainable and resilient societies. Especially 6 goals of the Sustainable Development Goals were discussed during the forum; Goal 6. Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all, Goal 7. Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all, Goal 11.

Governance Capacity Development Session Series: Strengthening Public Governance and Accelerating Innovation to Achieve Agenda 2030

The Governance Capacity Development Session Series on "Strengthening Public Governance and Accelarating Innovation to Achieve Agenda 2030" was held from 02 April to 25 June 2021 (every Friday from 15:00 to 16:30 pm GMT+9).  The Session Series aimed to provide a common knowledge base to discuss and share general knowledge on the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the critical importance of strengthening public governance and building effective, accountable and transparent institutions at all levels for SDG implementation.<

Regional “Train the Trainers” Workshop on the Behavioural Insights and Strategic Planning Handbook

Within the framework of ESCWA’s Development Account (DA) project “Towards the Arab Horizon 2030: Enhancing Integrated National Development Planning in the Arab Region” and as part of its deliverables, ESCWA and Nudge Lebanon collaborated to develop a comprehensive handbook/manual for Arab development planners. The handbook includes good practices and tools identified from within and outside the region that may be used by national planners as a guide during their work and throughout the different stages of planning.
