The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), through its Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG), will organize a “Presidential Summit on Mainstreaming the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Curricula of Schools of Public Administration”. The Presidential Summit will build on meetings of the Global Network of Schools of Public Administration spearheaded by DPIDG as part of the Global Initiative on Building Capacities of Public Servants for the implementation of the SDGs.
In its forthcoming 22nd session held from 27 to 31 March at UN Headquarters in New York, the UN Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) will discuss key aspects of the theme “Urgently transforming institutions for a greener, more inclusive and more resilient world at a time of multiple crises”.
The Side Event will focus on transforming public service delivery through a human-centered design and collaborative governance. It will showcase the innovative practice of the ASAN Service Centers and the ASAN Public Service Assessment Frameworks of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The objective of ASAN is to ensure that public services are delivered in a uniformed and coordinated manner across Azerbaijan. “ASAN service” centers are designed to guarantee citizens’ satisfaction and to enhance the quality of the relationship between public servants and citizens.
The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), through its Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) and its Project Office on Governance (UNPOG), and the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA) have established in 2023 a Task Force to review and/or update the Standards of Excellence for Public Administration Education and Training. The Standards of excellence were finalized in 2008 almost 15 years ago.
