Online Workshop on Risk-informed Governance, Climate Action, and Finance Mechanisms for Local Resilience

This training is open to local government officials including SDG, Sendai Framework, climate and urban development focal points and other stakeholders from national government, civil society and institutions in Asia-Pacific interested in or supporting disaster risk management, climate change adaptation, building resilience, innovative finance mechanism for climate action and sustainable development.

Regional Symposium on Strengthening the Capacities of Public Institutions and Developing Effective Partnerships to Realize the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development recognizes the need to build peaceful, just and inclusive societies that provide equal access to justice and that are based on respect for human rights (including the right to development), on effective rule of law and good governance at all levels and on transparent, effective and accountable institutions” (A/RES/70/1, para. 35). Goal 16 of the 2030 Agenda specifically calls for effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.

Training Workshop of the Global Initiative for Schools of Public Administration on the SDGs

 

DPIDG/UNPOG organized the workshop on “Mobilizing and equipping public servants to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and achieve the SDGs”, in parallel with the Regional Symposium. The Workshop is part of the programme of the UN DESA Global Initiative for Schools of Public Administration on the SDGs.

Executive Development Course on Digital Government for Transformation Towards Sustainable and Resilient Societies – The Singapore Experience

UNPOG successfully co-organized the Executive Development Course on Digital Government for Transformation Towards Sustainable and Resilient Societies – The Singapore Experience, which was held on April 2-6, 2018 in Singapore. The Course was attended by 27 participants, mainly the national SDG focal points, from 20 countries in Asia and the Pacific, Eastern Africa and Latin America. The Course was composed of sessions and panel discussions on diverse topics of digital government as well as several field visits to experience Singapore’s digital government services.
