ICEGOV 2021 on “Smart Digital Governance for Global Sustainability”

ICEGOV 2021 marks the 14th edition of the International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance. Jointly organised by the University of the Aegean, the Harokopio University of Athens and the United Nations University (UNU-EGOV), the conference will promote the interaction of people from all over the world and different sectors, such as academia, government, industry, and international organisations.

World Summit on the Information Society Forum 2021

The World Summit on the Information Society Forum 2021 represents the world's largest annual gathering of the ‘ICT for development’ community. The WSIS Forum, co-organized by ITU, UNESCO, UNDP and UNCTAD, in close collaboration with all WSIS Action Line Facilitators/Co-Facilitators, has proven to be an efficient mechanism for coordination of multi- stakeholder implementation activities, information exchange, creation of knowledge, sharing of best practices and continues to provide assistance in developing multi-stakeholder and public/private partnerships to advance development goals. This Forum will provide structured opportunities to network, learn and participate in multi-stakeholder discussions and consultations on WSIS implementation. The Agenda and Programme of the Forum will be built on the basis of the submissions received during the Open Consultation Process.

The 22nd Annual International Conference on Digital Government Research (DGO2021) on “Digital Innovations for Public Values: Inclusive Collaboration and Community”

The Digital Government Society (DGS) announces that the dg.o 2021 will be hosted by the Digital Governance and Analytics Lab, the School of Public Administration, the Center for Public Affairs Research, and the College of Public Affairs and Community Service at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Omaha, Nebraska in the United States of America. Specifically, the conference aims to advance both research and practice of public value creation via digital innovations by leveraging collaboration and community-oriented solutions in an inclusive manner.

World e-Parliament Conference Report 2009

The World e-Parliament Conference 2009 took place at the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., on 3, 4 and 5 November 2009. It provided a platform to exchange views on the latest trends and different modalities of implementation of new technologies in legislatures with a view to identify good practices in the areas of representation, transparency, accountability, openness, and effectiveness. This report summarizes the presentations and practices showcased during the different sessions and highlights the main points of discussion.

World e-Parliament Report 2010

The World e-Parliament Report 2010 examines how global and regional inter-parliamentary cooperation can exploit synergies among nations to help parliaments in developing countries bridge the digital divide by overcoming the barriers of limited resources and technical constraints. It proposes to the parliamentary and donor communities a shared framework for e-parliament based on strategic goals that serve democracy, good governance, and the attainment of the internationally agreed development goals.

Compendium of ICT Applications on Electronic Government, Volume 2: Mobile Applications on Human Security and Business Development

This Compendium of ICT Applications on Electronic Government is a unique collection of current ICT applications being used directly by or in partnership with governments, governmental institutions and the private sector around the world to support administration and public service, while addressing governance challenges. Volume 2 of the Compendium, the second in the series, focuses on m-technology software products and applications in the areas of human security and business development that are being used in both developed and developing countries.

Compendium of Innovative E-government Practices, Volume III

The Compendium of Innovative E-government Practices is a compilation of recent case studies of innovative e-government solutions, services and applications. In this edition are 145 case studies from 55 countries, which have been organized by all the world regions: Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and North America and the Caribbean. The case studies cover a wide range of innovative practices, including e-democracy, gender equality, e-education, e-commerce, information access, and citizen service delivery.

United Nations E-Government Survey 2010: Leveraging E-Government at a Time of Financial and Economic Crisis

The United Nations global survey of e-government presents a systematic assessment of the use and potential of information and communication technology to transform the public sector by enhancing transparency, efficiency, access to public services and citizen participation in all countries and at all levels of development. The 2010 edition of the survey was prepared against a backdrop of financial and economic crisis that is putting tremendous pressure on governments to do more with less. The report examines transparency of stimulus funding and finds that open data could do a great deal to assuage unease and regain the public trust. The authors also argue that e-government technology, while no substitute for good policy, may provide regulators with a much-needed means of grappling with the speed and complexity of financial markets.

Open Government: Open Data Toolkit

The open data toolkit is a brief guide for initiating, planning, implementing, and evaluating open data programmes in the Arab region. It includes five sections, covering planning and management, making and updating inventories and catalogues, developing platforms, evaluating, and ensuring open data quality. The proposed steps are fortified with examples from existing open data initiatives that help clarify the process based national experiences of developed and developing countries, including Arab countries.

Report of the Expert Group Meeting on 2012 United Nations E-Government Survey: Towards a More Citizen-Centric Approach

The Division for Public Administration and Development Management (DPADM) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) organized an Expert Group Meeting (EGM) entitled "E-Government Survey: Towards a More Citizen-centric Approach. It was held at United Nations headquarters in New York, USA, from 6 to 7 December 2010. The primary goal of the EGM was to make specific suggestions for new indicators with regard to the six initiatives considered for the 2012 survey. The report was derived from the presentations and discussions of the EGM.
