The 2024 UNPAN Members Annual Meeting, organized by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG), will take place at the margins of the 23rd Session of the UN Committee of Experts on Public Administration at the UN Headquarters in New York on Thursday 18 April 2024 from 1.30pm to 2.45pm at Conference Room A at the Secretariat Building. This is an in-person meeting. 
 

The objective of the meeting is to provide a platform for UNPAN Members to share information about their upcoming activities and innovative ways to strengthen governments’ capacities to advance the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with a focus on SDG16 on strong institutions, peace and justice and SDG 17 on partnerships for the Goals. 
 

The meeting will be structured around a set of plenary presentations on the key activities by DPIDG staff and UNPAN Members and plenary discussions on how to strengthen public institutions’ capacities to achieve the SDGs. The meeting will be conducted in English. 
 

Panel discussions and presentations at the meeting will be structured into four main topics as follows:

  • Short presentation of key activities in 2024 by each UNPAN Member on strengthening public institutions’ capacities to achieve the SDGs (2 minutes per UNPAN Member).
  • Open discussion on how to strengthen synergies and new ways of working together and possible follow-up actions.
  • Presentation on the UNPAN Website – updates on the platform.
