The 2025 United Nations Public Service Forum will take place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan from 23 to 25 June 2025, under the theme "Five Years to 2030: Accelerating Public Service Delivery for a Sustainable Future". The Forum is co-organized by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) through its Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) and the Government of Uzbekistan.
Context
With only five years left to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, accelerating action in public administration and service delivery has become more urgent than ever. Meeting the 2030 goals requires resilience, enhanced collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind.
By harnessing digital technology, fostering innovation, and building strong partnerships, governments can reimagine inclusive public services that effectively reach underserved communities and close the last-mile gap.
The Forum will bring together representatives of governments, international organizations, academia and civil society, national public servants and other stakeholders to identify actions needed to accelerate public sector innovation to meet these objectives.
