Sustainable Development Goals
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership.

SDG
Public Institutions and the SDGs
Effective governance and public institutions play a critical role in the achievement of all the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and targets. The Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) has developed a set of principles of effective governance for sustainable development, which were endorsed by the Economic and Social Council on 2 July 2018.

Training of Trainer (ToT) Programme

AAPAM in collaboration with Palestinian National School of Administration (PNSA) invite your institution to nominate four (4) participants for a Training of Trainer (TOT) programme scheduled from 2 nd – 6 th July 2023 at the Palestine National School, Palestine. The TOT programme is designed to equip the participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to become effective trainers in their respective fields. The course will cover 3 key topics including; Human Resources Development, Design & Development of Training Program and Effective Teaching. After successful completion of the program the participants will be issued with a Certificates of Completion. Application form. Deadline 27 April.   

National Workshop on Effective Governance for Sustainable Development in Mongolia

The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), through its Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) and Project Office on Governance (UNPOG), and in collaboration with the UN Resident Coordinator's Office and UNDP Mongolia, is organizing a National Workshop on Effective Governance for Sustainable Development in Mongolia on 07-13 June 2023.   

National Capacity Building Workshop on Accelerating Digital Government Transformation in Sri Lanka: Strengthening Digital Governance for Sustainable Development

The Workshop will feature presentations on the Principles of Effective Governance for Sustainable Development and trends in e-government development including the recent move in digital platform government and data policy. It will conduct a situation analysis with reference to the Handbook on Digital Government Capability Assessment and identify priorities and new approaches to inclusive service delivery. This Workshop will also conduct an exercise to develop an e-Competency profile of the public sector workforce in Sri Lanka with reference to the European e-Competence Framework (e-CF). This Workshop aims to develop a road map and action planning for facilitating innovation and advancing digital government in Sri Lanka to realize the SDGs.    

Capacity Development Online Training of Trainers Workshop on “Changing Mindsets for Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Improved Public Service Delivery for Sustainable Development Goals Implementation”

The objective of the online workshop is to equip the INAP’s trainers on the use of the Curriculum on Governance for the SDGs toolkits to help them train Guatemala’s public servants with innovative mindsets and behaviors to better address current and future challenges related to SDGs implementation. The workshop will aim to evaluate and then customize the translated (Spanish) training materials contained in the Toolkits on Changing Mindsets in Public Institutions to Implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and on Innovation and Digital Government for Public Service Delivery and the Digital Transformation to the needs of Guatemala as identified by INAP/Guatemala.    

Capacity Development Webinar on Advancing Digital Government Transformation for Accelerating the Implementation of the SDGs

The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), through its Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) and its Project Office on Governance (UNPOG), in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), is organizing a capacity development webinar to launch the Training Toolkit on Capacities for Digital Government Transformation (the “Toolkit”), which is part of the Curriculum on Governance for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (the “Curriculum”).   

2023 SDG 16 Conference – SDG 16 as a compass for navigating intersecting crises

At a time when intersecting global crises are posing unprecedented challenges to advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the International Development Law Organization and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy announce that the fourth SDG 16 Conference will take place from 30 May to 1 June 2023 in Rome, Italy. The Conference will review progress and challenges related to SDG 16, focusing on conflict and shrinking trust in public institutions. The event will also explore SDG 16’s catalytic role in responding to food systems and climate change crises.

Call for Papers - "The Role of Public Governance in Socio-Economic Recovery and Development Towards the Sustainable Development Goals"

The Eastern Regional Organization for Public Administration (EROPA), together with this year's host country, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, through the National Academy of Public Administration, has the honor to invite you to participate in its 29th General Assembly and 68th Conference on “The Role of Public Governance in Socio-Economic Recovery and Development Towards the Sustainable Development Goals”, which will be held on 16 - 20 October 2023 at Hanoi, Vietnam. Public Administration scholars and practitioners are invited to submit papers for presentation.
